A building activity of great proportions is under way in Mykonos, although since last 2004 building construction has been slowed down, at least temporally.

Dozens of personalities have built their homes and impressive villas here; Kostopoulos, Stassinopoulps, Tselios, Aslanis, Gavalas, Barba. Zinas, Protopsalti, Sami Fais, Marinopoulos, Liakounakos and many others whose complete listing would run to many pages.

Beside the known personalities, however, many other Athenians have bought or rented houses in the most cosmopolitan island of the Aegean.

The price of building lots varies from 18.000 Euro per 1000 sq m. The price of houses varies from 2.000 up to 3.500 Euro per square meter, depending on the quality of the construction, the location of the house and the name of the region.

Good locales are considered, for the moment, Paradissia region, Houlakia, Pouli, Tourlos, Kanalia and the most proximate beaches.
