Mykonos Nightlife

Mykonos is the only Greek island where you can party at any hour of the day or night. Literally at any hour, whether it's high noon and mad boozing at the beach bars, or twilight and Technicolor sunsets from the packed-out bard of "Little Venice", or evening and serious bar-crawling in the back streets of Hora, or dawn and dancing-till-you-drop around the pool at Cavo. Here sunrise means just one thing: Another day's partying is about to begin.

Caprice

8, Lambrou Katsoni St.
Tel.: +30 22890/22177

Undoubtedly the most famous spot on Little Venice area, with the most fought over tables (reservations only) for afternoon cocktails. The fruit drinks and its famous zesty margaritas are delicious (but also very expensive). It is the ultimate place to watch the sunset listening at the same time to mainstream music, which keeps the dance parties going well into the night. Caprice is very popular among Greek visitors.

Galleraki

Venice
Tel.: +30 22890/27188

The first place you come to on the Venice strip is Galleraki, which is open all day as a cafe-bar. Very atmospheric with a relaxed, funky and casual at the same time ambience. It gathers in the evening lot of people, who want to watch the sunset... and once the sun settles people do not; the bar gets buzzing and the console shifts smoothly from pop to reggae.

Scandinavian

9, Ioanni Voinovich St.
Tel.: +30 22890/22669

One of the oldest night life spots on the island is Scandinavian Bar, which take up an entire block. Today's fortyish crowd probably got drunk fro the first time as teenagers here. Even today the two open air service bars of Scandinavian offer cheap drinks (6 Euro per cocktail, 4 Euro for s large glass of beer)-this means that you can drink a lot, but you have to watch it! There you can find just about every shot imaginable (plus a few that aren't) make this a haven of uninhibited fun. While the name might suggest Northern European crowd, it still attracts a lot of Greek patrons. The console plays mainstream music, although sometimes it tends to lean to disco.

Porta

Tel.: +30 22890/27087

Hidden in a narrow street behind Niko's tavern, not as well-known as Pierro's, we find Porta, one of the most "hardcore" gay bars on the island. As you go down the stairs, the atmospheric surroundings rise to meet you submerged in a dim light, with music from the '70s playing in the back-ground. Its main advantage, according to its faithful followers, is its friendly atmosphere that makes them fell at home.

Veranda

Little Venice
Tel.: +30 22890/27400

It is a mansion overlooking the sea and with a breathtaking view of the windmills. Veranda is not a famous night spot, but ideal for watching the sunset. The atmosphere is romantic with slow music and classical decor. While the sun dives into he sea, every evening the same song is played at veranda, a song increasing the romance. Interesting and sometimes multi-colored cocktails are served there.

Built atop the rock, perfect for lazing about the pool, or watching what's going on in the water. Attracts a gay crowd, because it's on what is loosely held to be the gay part of the beach.
